Welcome

To my website and details of the courses, classes and teacher trainings I am currently offering. I am a registered Senior Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance UK and have been practicing yoga for 25 years and teaching for 13

S
tarting in the 1990s with Astanga Vinyasa yoga – as taught by the late S.K. Pattabhi Jois – my studies and travels have led me all over the world, to practice and learn from inspiring yoga teachers and masters including the wonderful John and Lucy Scott and many others.

Originally from a dance background, I gained my BA in Dance Studies from Middlesex University in 1995 and then worked as a professional dancer/teacher and choreographer before immersing myself fully in the world of yoga in the late ’90s

I finished my PhD this year, entitled Yoga and the Dancer: principles of Hatha yoga and their contribution to the education of the dancer.  This is my contribution back to the dance community and informs much of the work I am currently doing exploring how yoga can play a part in enhancing the well-being, fitness and health of dancers. I now teach Vinyasa flow yoga that is intelligently-sequenced, creative, mature and will challenge you to explore your edge, but always in a safe and supportive space. I also teach traditional Astanga Vinyasa in small groups or one-to-one.

After many years of developing my own practice and growing as a teacher, I now offer my own Teacher Training Programmes:  3oo hour Vinyasa Flow teacher training which starts September 2012 in Norwich and   Embodied Dancer the second intake of which starts Oct 2012  If you are looking for shorter teacher training, I’m partnering with Yoga Anatomy. Net, and Leslie Kaminoff to bring you Yoga Anatomy Fundamentals

I also work with dancers and performers to enhance and liberate creativity and flow. Classes with me will leave you feeling uplifted, refreshed and ready to take on your life with vigour and zest. I look forward to working with you!

See you on the Mat…

Abby
